Admit it: you, too, had a wild, just quite feasible idea at nine years old. I dreamed up the Batwings: a large bamboo structure composed of dry-cleaner bags and (of course) duct tape. Sadly, it did not take flight.
Believe it or not, another attempt at batwings did occur when I was older. I think I was either 12 or 13... There is no record of this version. (I assume my father was too embarrassed in my lack of aerodynamics knowledge to record at that point) But, still to this day, on very windy days, I must admit I wonder what my small 70 pound self could have done...
